Ankeny Virtual Academy is designed for students who currently live within Ankeny Schools’ boundaries but are not enrolled in the district and thrive outside the traditional classroom. You’ll have the freedom to learn anytime, anywhere. Plus, a team of educators and support staff to guide you every step of the way. Whether you’re someone in need of a fresh start or an advanced learner seeking more challenges, we’re here to help you succeed. Due to limited space available, Ankeny Virtual Academy is currently only open to resident students who are not currently enrolled in the Ankeny Community School District.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

This is an Ankeny Community School District virtual program, so it’s completely free.

No textbooks or physical materials are required. When a new student enrolls in the district, Ankeny receives the state funding tied to that student. The district will focus those funds received through these enrollments on making Ankeny Virtual Academy as rich and engaging as possible.

You’ll be wrapped in support from a team of caring adults, including:

Academic Coach: Helps you stay on pace and on track

Teachers: Provide guidance and feedback on assignments

24/7 Tutors: Virtual homework help available anytime day or night

IT Support: Assistance with your program-provided laptop and WiFi hotspot

Ankeny Virtual Academy is the official virtual program of Ankeny Community School District (ACSD), a premier public school district in Central Iowa recognized by the Iowa Department of Education. Your education will meet the state’s highest standards — and they’ll graduate with an accredited Iowa diploma from ACSD.

With no real-time classes or set login times, you can work on classwork anytime and anywhere. You will also have a personal support team to help you meet deadlines, overcome challenges, and meet other students in the program.

WILL MY DIPLOMA BE ACCREDITED?

Yes! You’ll graduate with an accredited diploma from Ankeny Community School District that will be accepted by colleges, employers, and the military.
